Vacancy: Part Time Support & Referral Coordinator

Callington Foodbank is seeking to recruit a Part Time Support & Referral Coordinator to provide/oversee an in house enhanced triage, signposting, referral, and wraparound support service to both foodbank clients and others identified as in need.

The role will involve attending the foodbank sessions in Callington, liaising with people accessing the foodbank and others to provide them with additional non food support, and ensure that there is a smooth transfer between foodbank and the dedicated Citizens Advice Cornwall adviser where required.

You will be responsible for liaising with clients, volunteers, and referrers, providing additional non food support to individuals and families identifying areas of need for example energy/heating, housing, low income etc.  and matching appropriate sources of potential support. Our aim is to have a dedicated member of staff that will create continuity for both food bank volunteers, those needing to visit the Foodbank as well as our referral partners and social prescribers. This will require someone who is self-motivated and hard-working and at ease working in a team environment

You will work closely with the board of trustees and the Foodbank Manager

You will support the ethos and sustainability of Callington Foodbank, which as part of Trussell Trust works to end the need for food banks. It is founded on and shaped by Christian principles.

The role will also involve deputising for the Foodbank Manager on occasions.

You will possess good IT skills and be comfortable with internet/social media etc.

The appointment is for initially 15 hours a week (subject to review) to include foodbank sessions.   Specific working days are negotiable.

The successful applicant will be required to undertake a DBS Check

The hourly rate is £11.00.

Option to join pension scheme.

Hours and hourly rate to be reviewed after twelve months.
